Brushing

Washing

  1. Properly Brush your hair before getting into the shower

  2. Wash with sulfate free and paraben free shampoo at least 2 times and rinse in between each weft. Make sure to gently yet thoroughly wash and rinse in between each row

  3. Use a hydrating conditioner on your mids and ends leaving it on for 3-5 min. Avoid putting conditioner on your scalp and Base of wefts. it can cause the beads to slip, and conditioner isn't needed for your scalp.

  • Use a deep conditioner/ mask on your hair every 3-4 washes (that's once a week for most people)

  • NOTE: purple shampoo will work in a matter of seconds on your extension's vs taking longer on your real hair. Your extensions very well could turn purple. Use with caution or not at all.

Styling

Less heat, proper brushing

  • apply leave in conditioner to your wet hair, brush properly, then blow dry on medium or low heat in a downward motion. Do not flip your head upside down.

  • Always apply a heat protectant to your hair before using any hot tools & keep tools at 350 degrees or under

  • Styling products such as root lifters, dry shampoo etc are okay to use on your hair, just avoid putting them on your root where the base of your extension weft is as it will be hard to wash out and cause product build up.

  • use oil on your dry hair daily. Mids + ends only

  • Mini brush for your purse on the go

Properly brushing your hair is one of the most important parts of caring for them.

  • Brush in when you wake up, before showing, before going to bed. Use the recommended detangling brush called the WET brush.

  • Hold the base of the weft with one hand. With the other, gently brush the hair starting at the ends and work your way up the root. Make sure to brush in between each weft to ensure matting doesn't occur at the base where your real hair and the extensions are installed. Brushing too aggressively over the base will cause "looping" and often times the Hair weft cannot be salvaged

Sleeping

  • Never go to bed with wet hair

  • always brush your hair before sleeping

  • sleep with hair in a low loose braid or ponytail using a scrunchie

SWIMMING | ACTIVITIES | SUNSCREEN

  • It is not recommended to swim with extensions. Risk Include matting (irreparable tangles) and discoloration. If you choose to swim, prepare your hair by wetting it with clean water (from the faucet/hose/water bottle. NOT pool, lake or salt water) and apply conditioner to it. Pull your hair up in a bun or 2 tight braids to avoid matting and avoid submerging your hair as much as possible. After Water actives, rinse. Shampoo and use a deep conditioner.

Note that you are swimming at your own risk, and I cannot guarantee the color or quality if you swim.

  • Sunscreen is important for our skin, but let's keep it away from our extensions as it will cause irreversible discoloration (usually a peach or orange color) Avoid using a spray chemical sunscreen and make sure to pull your hair up, so it doesn't rub against the area's sunscreen has been applied to.

  • Avobenzone is the main ingredient to avoid. Using sunscreens with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the safest.

  • Self-tanners will cause discoloration too as its purpose is to change the color of your skin
